SUMMER CAMP STORIES

My name is Braxton and this is my first year in 4-H. I live in Palmdale and I am in Palmdale Hales 4-H Club. From July 1st to July 8th, I attended 4-H camp at Camp Seely. There, I fished, hiked, swam, did arts and crafts, and watched movies. Everyday we had a different theme to dress up as and to decorate our cabins with. We were also divided into three teams: Pokeman, Madagascar, and The Mario Brothers.
My favorite activity at the camp was the dance and "The Haunted Walk". "The Haunted Walk" was scary, but fun because we went on a walk to find one of our missing staff members. Several groups went throughout the camp and in the cabins at night while they were being scared to death. Other staff members were hiding and jumping off roofs. That was one walk that I could never forget. My other favorite activity was the dance because I got to dance with my friends that I met at camp and other people to. I really enjoyed the two hours of music, punch, cookies, and popcorn.
My team was team number one, The Pokeman, and we were also number one because we had the most team points. We got most of those points from dressing up as the theme of the day and the others from swimming relays, which I happened to get first place in. The theme of the day for the week that I went to camp is as follows: Team Spirit Day, Pirate Day, The Fourth of July, Crazy Day, Hallowen, Cinco de Mayo, and a Time to Remember. I also fished at Lake Gregory. We did arts and crafts such as lanyards and leather craft at Camp Seely. Next year I look forward to attending camp, but I hope that there are more 4-H fun-filled activities.

Sincerely,
Braxton
