If you wish to be considered for a campership to send your child to 4-H Summer Camp, please fill in this form COMPLETELY and send to Dennis DeYoung / 9401 Reseda Blvd., Northridge, CA 91324-2973. Fax copies will not be accepted, however applications must be legible and may be scanned and emailed to [email protected]. Applications must be postmarked NO LATER THAN June 1, 2022. You must have already submitted a Registration Form, Medical Release Form and paid the camp reservation fee of $75.00. Camperships
Financial assistance is available to boys and girls aged 8 to 19 on an individual, case by case basis. Assistance is based on fund availability. All information for financial assistance is kept confidential. Camperships are not guaranteed and may be issued in any dollar amount up to the maximum of $150.00.
The Campership application is only available online either on this website or at www.4Hcampership.com. The parent/guardian must also submit a completed camp registration form, medical release form, other forms and the $75.00 deposit directly to Keith Nathaniel at the L.A. County 4-H Office Tel: (626) 586-1970 (available at www.4Hsummercamp.com). If you do not register for camp, you cannot attend (i.e., no walk-ins). CAMPERSHIP APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN JUNE 1, 2022 for the Early-Bird Registration. The Selection Committee will send a letter of acknowledgment to the Campership recipients to the address on their application no later than JUNE 3rd, 2022. No cash or monies will be awarded directly to campership recipients. The Robert P. Amman Memorial Campership Fund will issue a check with a list of recipients directly to Mary Lash, Treasurer, L.A. County 4-H Club. Chaperones, Resource Leaders and other 4-H volunteers who are 21 and older do not have to pay the reservation or registration fee, but will have to complete a Registration Form, Medical Release Form and other forms required to attend Camp.
The Robert P. Amman Memorial Campership Fund was organized in 1986 after the untimely death of Robert Amman, an avid 4-H Summer Camp participant and Head Youth Director (1981). Since 1994, the Fund has awarded 1,364 partial and full camperships totaling $236,816. The Memorial Campership Fund is an IRS Section 501c(3) non-profit organization and tax-deductible contributions are encouraged. Please contact us if you (or someone you know) would consider making a tax-deductible contribution to fund future camperships. In 2002, contributions from the Code Memorial Fund were merged into the RPA Memorial Campership Fund.

Campership Policy
Camperships are available to assist 4-H members to attend the one-week 4-H Summer Camp program which is operated by the Los Angeles 4-H Youth Program. A Selection Committee, appointed by the President of the Robert P. Amman Memorial Campership Fund and/or his designee, will process all completed forms and notify the parent/guardian via email of the amount awarded to each applicant. The committee, in allocating financial assistance will consider the following criteria:
1. Essay Requirement – There is no essay requirement. However, an applicant may include a short essay (no more than one page – or less than 250 words) on why they want to attend summer camp.
2. Applications for a Campership must be postmarked by June 1, 2022. Campership applications will not be made available online until after January 1st. Late applications will not be considered.
3. Applicants must be enrolled members of 4-H as of the first day of Camp. Contact Keith Nathaniel at the LA County Office for more information – applicant does not have to be registered in a local 4-H Club, just enrolled in the 4-H program. 4. Preference may be given to camp participants who have not received camperships in prior years.
